Hi everyone!
This is my first attempt at blogging so we will see how it goes! I am currently in my second year of teaching so I am still fairly new to the profession. I have been reading blogs ever since I was hired for my first teaching position last year. I am 24 and I live in Lambert, Montana with my fiance Terran Hillesland (he is in my profile picture with me.) :) Lambert is a very rural community with a population of around 400. Most of our students are farm kids that ride an hour or more on the bus to get to our school. Last year I only had 4 students in my entire first grade class and they were all boys! Quite a nice first year of teaching I have to say. I am originally from Missoula, Montana and I studied education at the University of Montana in Missoula. Lambert is about a 10 hour drive from my hometown and obviously much smaller, so it took some adjusting to the small town atmosphere. This year I have 14 students in my first grade class and I am loving every minute of it! I have enjoyed reading all the other first grade teaching blogs so I decided to start one myself! I will try to post some of our fun holiday projects! Happy blogging!
